You know content matters. You just
can't make it happen consistently.

You've seen what great content does for businesses like yours. The competitors who show up every week with useful, engaging content? They're building trust, attracting customers, and establishing authority in your space. And you know you should be doing the same.

But the reality is messy. Your blog hasn't been updated in weeks. The podcast idea has been "coming soon" for months. Social media is sporadic. And every time someone on your team sits down to create something, it takes three times longer than it should because there's no system, no workflow, and no real plan connecting what you publish to what actually grows your business.

The problem isn't a lack of ideas. It's a lack of strategy, systems, and capacity.

You need someone who's built this before to help you figure out what to create, where to publish it, and how to make it sustainable for your team. And then to build the systems and workflows that make it all actually happen, week after week.

Despite my 30 years of experience in programme-making, Colin’s insight into what makes a podcast compelling is invaluable… I honestly wouldn’t make a podcast without them.

How we work

From scattered posting to a content engine
that drives your business.

We work with you to build a content strategy grounded in your audience and your goals, then design the systems that make consistent execution realistic for your team.

01 — Audience & Positioning

Know who you're creating for

You'll understand exactly who you're creating for and why they should care. We dig into your audience: who they are, what they need, what problems they're trying to solve, and where they're looking for answers. Then we define your positioning so your content stands out in a crowded space.

02 — Strategy & Planning

Build a plan that connects to growth

You'll have a clear content strategy that connects directly to your business goals. We map out which channels deserve your energy, what types of content to create, how often to publish, and what success looks like. No vague "be more consistent" advice. A real plan with clear priorities.

03 — Systems & Workflows

Make consistent output realistic

You'll have production workflows that make consistent output realistic, not aspirational. This is where our experience with modern tools and AI comes in. We design systems that handle the heavy lifting (research, first drafts, repurposing, distribution, scheduling) so your team can focus on the substance: the ideas, the expertise, and the voice that makes your content worth reading.

04 — Training & Capability

Run it without us

Your team will know how to run the whole system without us. We don't just hand over a strategy document and wish you luck. We build structured training into every engagement, grounded in real e-learning methodology, so your team understands the strategy, the tools, and the workflows well enough to keep improving long after we're gone.

Services

What this looks like in practice.

Content Strategy Development

We build your content strategy from the ground up: audience research, competitive analysis, positioning, channel selection, editorial planning, and a clear roadmap that ties content to business growth. This is the foundation everything else builds on.

Editorial Systems & Planning

We design the editorial systems that keep your content on track: planning frameworks, content calendars, brief templates, approval workflows. The unglamorous infrastructure that separates businesses who publish consistently from those who don't.

Multi-Channel Growth

Blog, podcast, video, newsletter, social. We help you figure out which channels actually matter for your audience and build a strategy for each. You don't need to be everywhere. You need to be consistent and excellent where it counts.

AI-Powered Production Workflows

This is our edge. We design production workflows that use AI to accelerate research, drafting, editing, repurposing, and distribution, dramatically increasing what your team can produce without sacrificing quality or your brand voice. AI handles the scaffolding. Your people provide the substance.

Content Team Training

We train your team on the strategy, the systems, and the modern tools that make it all work. Structured learning built on proper e-learning principles, not a quick demo and a wave goodbye. Your team builds real, lasting capability.

Testimonials

What people say about working with us.

These come from businesses Colin and the team helped launch and grow their shows at The Podcast Host, and from readers of his book on audience growth. Different channel, same job: content that finds the right audience and keeps it.

My colleagues and I went into the world of podcasting knowing nothing. However with Colin & his team’s support, it turned a really legal podcast into something fresh and exciting. We would recommend them to anyone.

From verified Amazon reviews of Podcast Growth, Colin’s co-written book on growing an audience

  • I just bought this book and within 10 minutes I already have meaningful actions on my todo list to help me improve my podcast.

    Jeroen, Amazon review

  • This book offers so many strategies for growth that every podcaster, at every budget, will find a lot of great ideas. There’s no fluff, just ideas that I’m excited to try.

    pema42, Amazon review

  • This book was a well-organized and thorough run-down of marketing strategies both digital and analog for podcasts at varying levels. Each step was clearly written, and I especially appreciated the checklist of steps at the end of each chapter, which make awesome quick-references for later use.

Our edge

Modern tools. Human voice.

Let's be clear about something: great content still comes from real experience, real stories, and a real human perspective. That hasn't changed and it won't.

What has changed is the toolkit. AI can dramatically accelerate the parts of content production that slow teams down: research, first-draft scaffolding, repurposing a blog post into a newsletter and three social posts, optimising for search, handling formatting and scheduling. The work that eats up creative time without requiring creative thinking.

We've spent years building and refining AI-powered content workflows in our own businesses. We know where AI genuinely helps, where it gets in the way, and where you need a human in the loop no matter what. We bring that experience to every engagement, so your team gets the speed gains without the quality trade-offs.

The result: your team creates more of the good stuff, more consistently, without burning out. And it still sounds like you.

Why us

We didn't just study this.
We built a business on it.

Corran Labs is led by Colin Gray, founder of The Podcast Host and Alitu.

Through The Podcast Host, Colin and his team built one of the world's leading content businesses in the podcasting space. Over 15 years, they grew the site to over 2 million visitors a year, built PodCraft into a top 1% podcast, grew a YouTube channel past a million views, and ran five-figure newsletters. Every piece of that content was created by real people with real expertise: the team wrote the articles, hosted the shows, filmed the videos, and built the courses.

Alongside that, Colin built Alitu, a SaaS podcast creation tool that grew to thousands of paying customers and over $1M in annual revenue. Both businesses were acquired together in February 2026.

Over time, AI became a major part of how the content operation ran. Not replacing the team, but accelerating what they could produce. Colin designed AI workflows for research, drafting, repurposing, and distribution, and learned firsthand what works, what doesn't, and where the line is between helpful automation and losing your voice.

Colin also holds a PhD in online education and spent six years as a university lecturer. When we train your content team, that background shapes everything: the training is structured, grounded in how people actually learn, and designed to create lasting capability.

The short version: We've built a multi-million-visitor content business from scratch across every channel. We've integrated AI into the production process without losing the human voice. And we know how to teach teams to do the same. That's not theory. That's 15 years of doing it.

Is this for you?

Sound familiar?

You know content matters for your business. You've seen what consistent publishing does for your competitors. But your team is stretched, your output is inconsistent, and there's no real system connecting what you create to what actually grows your business.

Maybe you're producing some content already, but it's ad hoc. There's no strategy behind it, no production workflow, and no way to tell what's working. Every piece feels like starting from scratch.

Or maybe you're starting fresh and want to do it right from day one: build a real content operation with a clear strategy, proper systems, and modern tools that let a small team punch well above its weight.

Either way, you don't need to be a media company. Some of our best work happens with professional services firms, e-commerce businesses, SaaS companies, and agencies. If your business has expertise worth sharing and an audience worth reaching, content strategy will grow it.

FAQ

Questions you might have.

No. Our background is in podcasting, but the content strategy principles and AI workflows we've developed apply across every channel: blog, video, newsletter, social media, podcast. We help you figure out the right mix for your business and build systems for all of it.

Not if we do our job properly. And we will. Our philosophy is that AI handles the scaffolding (research, first drafts, repurposing, formatting) while your team provides the ideas, expertise, and voice. The end product should sound more like you, not less, because your people are spending their time on substance instead of admin.

Yes. Many of our clients have one or two people handling all their content alongside other responsibilities. That's actually where good systems and AI workflows make the biggest difference: a small team with the right strategy and tools can outperform a much larger team without them.

All of them, if that's what makes sense for your business. Blog, podcast, video, newsletter, social media. We'll help you figure out which channels deserve your energy and build strategies and workflows for each. You don't need to be everywhere. You need to be excellent where it counts.

A content agency creates content for you. We build the strategy, the systems, and the team capability so you can create better content yourselves. We're building an engine, not a dependency. Once we're done, your team runs it.

Every engagement is scoped to your needs. A full content strategy and systems build typically runs over 6-10 weeks. Ongoing advisory and training support is also available. We'll give you a clear proposal after our discovery call.

No. AI-powered workflows are a major part of what we offer, and they can dramatically accelerate your output. But the strategy and systems work stands on its own. If you'd rather keep things fully manual, the content strategy, editorial planning, and training we provide are valuable regardless. Most clients find the AI workflows compelling once they see them in practice, but it's never forced.

Great content strategy, weak course?

If your content engine feeds a course or membership that students don't finish, the leak is downstream of your marketing. Our Course Effectiveness Audit reviews your course against real learning science and shows you exactly what to fix.
